May 4 ist {?) Day Anno Dom 1707 - In the name of God amen this I make my Last will and testament in mann'r & forme foll. [following].

 

First I comitt my soule to God my maker & Redeemer ashuredley that through ye merits of Jesus Christ I shall have full pardon for my sins.

 

After my depts. are paid I give & bequeath unto my daughter Rebeckah at ye age of fourteen one cow & her last fallen calf & all ye rest of my personall estate.  Rem'a (remainder) unto my son to my son Sam'll. 

 

I give & bequeath my son Sam'll & my daughter Rebeckah unto ye care & charge of my well beloved friend James -----

[Jeivers? Colonial Families lists as Sewers] & all that belongs unto them [until] the boy arrives one & twenty years of age & my daughter at age of sixteen.  After my decease I make my wife Mary whole & sole ex. of this my last will and testament as witness my hand & seale this day & year above written.

Witnesses: Eliza Lumbey [or Lumley. Ink is very thick here, could be either], Wm. Hayens, Mary (her mark) Hayens

On the back of in aforegoing will was thus written, viz: October 30th 1707

Wm. Hames and Mary Hames two of the witnesses to ye within will made oath [on] ye holdy Evangelist that they did see ye within will as his act & deed & ye same time he was of sound, perfect mind & memory.
