14th Jan. 1812 the
following “deed” was received to be recorded, to wit: Henry Martin Sr. of
Talbot Co., in the state of Maryland Farmer, of the one part, and John Higgins
junior of the same county and state, Farmer of the other part. Whereas John Higgins Junr. by his indenture
of mortgage bearing date on or about the sixth day of June, 1795, duly executed
and enrolled in Liber W.S.B. NA, folios 354, 355, one of the land record books
of Talbot County, did deed in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty
pounds current money of Maryland, sell unto the said Henry Martin & his heirs
& assigns, all that lot of land called “Dickinsons’ Lot,” also all that
parcel called “Lotts’ Addition” and all that parcel of land known by the name
of “Boram’s Range” all situate in Talbot County afsd. on the
north side of Choptank River, and on the east side of Bullenbrooke branch,
containing by estimation four hundred and thirty four acres of land, and
whereas John Higgins Jr. hath fully paid and satisfied to him the said Henry
Martin the sum of two hundred and seventy five pounds, he the said Henry Martin
Senior doth agree to execute this instrument of writing, as a full release of
the above mentioned tracts.

Talbot Co. to wit: received on the day of the date, of the above & aforegoing deed, one dollar, current money, the same being the consideration mentioned in the said deed.
